Program Features: It is a key program in the school. Visual Communication Design and Production refers to the design that designers use graphic visual symbols (characters, graphs, colors, etc.) to convey various kinds of information to recipients in various media. Its main function is to spread and popularize. It involves many fields, such as newspapers, magazines, billboards, various print advertisements on packaging, and various kinds of advertisements on various digital media all belong to the field of visual communication design. Its contents mainly include: advertising design, book binding design, product packaging design, corporate image design (VI design), display design, web visual design, and digital image design, etc. This program adopts the "design project-based teaching method". Through teaching cases close to practical application, students can understand the work flow and content of posts, master the design rules and performance techniques of various design projects in the field of graphic design, skillfully use various kinds of graphic design software, and can have the ability to complete design tasks.

Micro Class: Computer Aided Design: This course is the core course of Visual Communication Design, offered in different forms in the second, third and fourth semesters respectively, and plays an important role in the professional curriculum system. Through the project training of PS, CDR, AI, DW and other software, students can master the ability of computer-aided design preliminarily, and at the same time, cultivate their good professional quality, laying a foundation for their follow-up course study and graphic design and production after graduation.
Decorative Painting: is the core course of Visual Communication Design, with a strong emphasis on hands-on skills. The course is divided into "basic knowledge" and "decorative techniques".
By studying the basic knowledge and laws of decorative painting, students can make clear the significance of learning decorative painting, understand the emergence, development and cultural origin of decorative painting, know about the cultural connotation, artistic style, types, laws and the significance of design and production of decorative painting art at home and abroad, and deepen their understanding of the close relationship and aesthetic value between decorative art and life of the times.
By learning the performance techniques of decorative painting, students can master a variety of techniques of expression in the artistic creation of decorative painting, and grasp the artistry, diversity, interest and richness of decorative painting language. Students will fully realize the value and importance of decorative painting in artistic creation, and master the artistic principles in decorative modeling. Digital Image Editing is the core course of this program. Compared with Computer Aided Design, it mainly focuses on the practical application of software. Students are required to master the theoretical knowledge and design skills of some courses, and then they can skillfully use software to design layout, books, make signs and so on.
Cultural Innovation and Planning: is a characteristic course based on art, communication and management, focusing on cultivating students' three basic abilities: creativity, planning and copywriting, and the specific requirements depend on their majors. As far as Visual Communication is concerned, it aims to help students grasp creative methods and have basic copywriting ability through learning, so as to lay a good foundation for future design learning.
Description of Key Courses:
Advertising Design is an important course of Visual Communication Design. Advertising design is the product of commodity economy. The publicity and introduction of enterprise objectives, business policies, products or services as the main contents for advertising objects are expected to establish favorable and good enterprise image and product image in the eyes of advertising objects, stimulate and expand market demand, and finally achieve the purpose of expanding sales. Through the study of advertising design course, students can basically master the theoretical knowledge and creative methods of the course, have the basic quality and skills of advertising design, and are competent in creation, design and production of various advertising forms.
Packaging Design is a practical and comprehensive important course for Visual Communication Design, and a course of discipline integration. Through the training of product packaging design and production, students can master the relevant knowledge of product packaging research, creativity, design and production; cultivate the ability to use different creative and expression methods to complete packaging design, and complete packaging design through specific production implementation.
The practical teaching of this course is driven by specific tasks, course design is guided by work projects, and teaching scenarios are designed based on the production process of enterprises, so that the course can serve the following functions.
(1) Closely combining theory and practice. On the one hand, the course teaches students what they should know through "teaching and exercise"; on the other hand, it teaches students what they should be able to do through "practice and training".
(2) Keeping up with the development of packaging technology. In recent years, as the state advocates more energy-saving and environment-friendly materials to avoid over-package, teaching materials construction should follow the development of technology and teachers should keep abreast of the development trends of packaging design and production technology, update the teaching content in time, and provide students with the latest production technology and the most advanced production equipment.
(3) Combining academic study and vocational skills appraisal. Students are required to take exams in their respective fields of study, such as graphic designer exam.
The prerequisite course is the study of packaging structure, and the follow-up course is the application of graphic design principles to packaging design, that is, packaging visual communication.
VI Design: VI Design plays a very important role in corporate image planning, design and corporate competitiveness improvement, and is the key to sustainable development of every enterprise. This course enables students to acquire the basic knowledge and ability to engage in corporate image design and planning, and is a compulsory course for Visual Communication Design. Students will fully understand and basically master the theoretical system, planning sequence and design method of the functions and interrelations of (MI, BI and VI) in corporate image design (CIS). With typical operational training and tutoring, students will have better ability to design trademarks and signs and cooperate to complete corporate image planning and design.
At present, the professional post ability of this course can be summarized into three ability modules: professional, methodological and social.
Professional Ability:
According to the procedure of VI design, market research and correct design orientation are carried out to cultivate students' ability to complete and systematically design VI and edit, design and produce VI manuals from basic system to application system, so students can constantly improve freehand drawing skills, comprehensively operate CORELDRAW and PHOTOSHOP, and master logo design, font design, color composition and other capabilities.
Methodological Ability:
Corporate research and data collection and VI design project implementation help students cultivate the ability to learn, work, collect and process information, analyze and solve problems, and innovate.
Social Ability:
With VI bidding topics published by network media as real projects for teaching and based on the design projects for tasks, students work in teams to complete overall design and production of projects to develop good communication skills, collaboration awareness, and excellent professional ethics and occupational quality.
