Program Features: As a characteristic program established earlier in the university, this program is closely linked with cultural media and commercial service industries in Wuhan and trains announcers, hosts, journalists and other professionals in radio, television, recording and production of films and televisions, culture and art, network and new media and other industries, who can be engaged in broadcasting, program hosting, interview and reporting, event hosting, dubbing, network and new media communication, art education and other work. Micro Class: Broadcasting Phonation aims to teach the basic skills of broadcasting and hosting from the pronunciation of a character to the use of breath, lay a good foundation and correct pronunciation so that students can speak standard Mandarin.
Hosts’ Performance Training begins with the training of basic skills of hosting and focuses on students’ expression ability on stage, including physical expression, oral expression, and the basic skills of hosting.
Figure Training aims to correct the figure, starts with the basic training of the figure and corrects bad habits such as hunchback so that students become elegant and decent.
Elementary Acting is based on tongue twister practice and clip performance training. A host must have some performance skills to achieve a good stage effect.
All-Media News Gathering and Writing mainly trains students’ theoretical knowledge and total skills of news interview, collection, writing and production in the all-media era.
Radio and Television Business Practice is a characteristic practice course which focuses on various practices in shooting, hosting and producing radio and television programs.
Television Program Planning: Television program planning is an important link in TV program production and dissemination. The ultimate goal of this course is to make students comprehensively and systematically understand the theoretical system and operation system of TV program planning and better meet the needs of society.
Television Shooting and Editing is divided into two parts: shooting in the early stage and editing. Shooting technology is now widely used in major TV stations, media advertising companies and so on. Editing enables students to quickly master the operation of digital cameras and use non-linear editing software Adobe Premiere to edit videos and Adobe Audio to edit audio files.

On-Camera Correspondents in News mainly includes: the characteristics of TV media highlighted in modern TV news reports, the classification of on-the-spot reports of on-camera correspondents, the preparation of on-the-spot reports of on-camera correspondents, on-the-spot reports of various news, the expression skills of on-camera correspondents in verbal language, the professional quality requirements and ability training of on-camera correspondents, the current situation of Japanese TV news on-camera correspondents and so on. On-camera correspondents’ live report is an important part of live news programs. As a normal reporting behavior, it can even be said without exaggeration that the live report without an on-camera correspondent cannot be called live broadcast. The ability to report on the spot has become a necessary ability for every reporter who uses verbal language to express information and complete narrative behavior of news. Through the project-based teaching method, we can comprehend the language organization of journalists who appear in news and how to appear in various different types of news scenes in each stage of assessment.
Business Hosting includes hosting weddings, hosting commercial performances, hosting meetings and so on. Students are required to achieve all aspects including vocal music, lines, figure and performance. This course requires extremely high comprehensive quality of a host. It is not simply to complete the work of an announcer or process connection, but compound hosting work with superior difficulty to master the rhythm, mobilize the atmosphere, connect the preceding with the following, and control the whole audience. In this course, students will first know about wedding hosting in business hosting and then hosting in a commercial performance or in a wedding; students can independently host commercial performances or weddings; master the key points of hosting commercial performances and weddings; learn to write host scripts; analyze the whole process of business hosting and wedding hosting; plan and lead the process of business hosting and wedding hosting; and control the scene. This course adopts the project-based teaching method and at each stage there will be an assessment according to the teaching content. Each project-based assessment allows students to become high-quality talents in business hosting during their work.
Film and Television Dubbing is of great significance students majoring in broadcasting and hosting arts to broaden their business horizons, improve their language expression and improve their language skills as a whole. When a student is no longer a host on stage, dubbing becomes very demanding for his voice and different dubbing types have different voices. In this course, through the study of character dubbing in films and TV plays, advertisement dubbing, dubbing in TV columns and TV documentary commentary, students can learn the general requirements and specific preparations for film and television dubbing art creation in the process of continuous recording and dubbing. For the overall needs of the current dubbing industry, students are taught the dubbing requirements and skills of each type at each stage through the project-based assessment method.
