Educational Objectives
Robotics engineering is a comprehensive discipline that effectively blends mechanics, electronics, computer and control technology. It trains students to develop a relatively solid basic knowledge of engineering and control engineering disciplines and the expertise of industrial automation. With robotic mechanical structure, motion control, programmable control, microprocessor applications, robot control technology and system integration as well as programming applications and ability training as main tasks, students should focus on the combination of software and hardware, and strong and weak electricity, and develop the capabilities to design and develop industrial robots and apply industrial robot technology to the intelligent manufacturing process in the machinery industry. This major aims to cultivate senior applied talents who may be engaged in the design, manufacture, technology development, programming and debugging, maintenance and management of robot workstations, automatic production lines and intelligent industrial systems in the three major areas of expertise of robot system design and manufacturing, intelligent robots, and service robots.
Fundamental Courses
Mechanical Engineering Testing Technology, Industrial Robot Programming and Operation, Industrial Robot System Integration, Industrial Robot Simulation, Robot Controller Design and Programming, Intelligent Sensing Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical and PLC Control, Intelligent Control Technology, Machine Learning, Machine Vision, Fieldbus Technology and other courses.
Job Prospects
Range of occupations: Graduates can be engaged in the technical and management work of enterprises and public institutions specializing in the design and manufacturing, technological development, and industrial robot production and application in the electromechanical industry. They can also be work on teaching, scientific research and administrative management in colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and state agencies. Since China regards advanced manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing as a major national development strategy, the manufacturing industry is seeing a huge social demand. Industrial robotics represents the feature of our school’s robotics engineering major. We have signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with Jiangsu Huibo Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd. and many other robotics companies to push forward the development of robotics engineering professional training, teacher training, school-enterprise cooperation, and internship and employment programs in our school.
Potential jobs: technical and management work of on-site programming, debugging, operations and maintenance, fault diagnosis, man-machine interface programming, production technology management, industrial robot sales, after-sales service and others of industrial robot workstation systems in complete sets of automated equipment.
