Educational Objectives
This major aims to cultivate high-quality, highly skilled professionals with an all-round development in moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic aspects, who develop integrated professional ability, set a goal to be high-quality laborers and junior and intermediate professional talents working in the front line of landscape design, engineering, technology and management, possess basic cultural knowledge, expertise and professional necessary to the level of higher vocational education, and adapt to social and economic development.
Fundamental Courses
The fundamental courses include Botany, Landscape Dendrology, Floriculture, AUTOCAD Drawing, Fundamentals of PHOTOSHOP Application, SketchUp Modeling, Engineering Surveying, Preliminary Landscape Design, Landscape Planning and Design, Landscape Architectural Design, Landscape Engineering, Project Estimate & Budget, Landscape Project Management, Landscape Renderings, Art of Flower Arrangement, Botany Practice, Landscape Dendrology Practice, Floriculture Practice, Surveying Practice, Landscape Architecture Design Practice, Landscape Planning Design Practice, Landscape Design Entrepreneurship Practice, and Post Practice, etc. Curriculum of this major not only emphasizes fundamentals learning, but also pays more attention to the cultivation of students’ practical ability. Curriculum design and practice and experimental courses are offered throughout students’ three-year study, in a bid to help students directly connect to their career right after graduation.
Job Prospects
Graduates may work for urban landscape bureaus, parks, government agencies, schools, factories, hospitals and residential property companies, engaged in landscape surveying, landscape planning and design, landscape engineering construction, and landscape plant cultivation management. They may also work on the cultivation and marketing of lawn, flower, and garden tree seedlings in landscape engineering companies, landscape nurseries, and flower companies. Or, they may be engaged in flower sales, management, and bouquet production in related industries. Outstanding graduates can continue their study through the associate-to-bachelor degree program, and also study for a master's degree after obtaining an undergraduate diploma and degree.
