Educational Objectives
This major established the “1+X” pilot certificate program initiated by the Ministry of Education in 2020. It is intended to cultivate high-quality applied professionals who have a systematic mastery of the principles of economics and the basic theories and elementary knowledge of international economics and international trade, establish the practical ability to carry out import and export and cross-border e-commerce activities, have an understanding of the development status of China's foreign trade and contemporary international economy and trade, familiarize with the prevailing international trade practices and WTO rules, understand the foreign trade status in major countries and regions, and be able to engage in foreign economic and trade business, management and research in foreign economic and trade sectors, foreign-funded enterprises and government agencies.
Fundamental Courses
Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Accounting Principles, Economic Law, International Trade, Finance, International Finance, International Investment, International Trade Practice, International Taxation, Customs Declaration Practice, and International Commercial Law.
Job Prospects
The major opportunities for graduates of this major to be employed are as follows: (1) foreign trade management, customs declaration, document preparation, foreign trade sales, business planning, foreign exchange settlement, trade settlement and other jobs in various foreign economic and trade sectors or banks; (2) foreign exchange trading, economic analysis, industry analysis, capital operations, venture capital, fund management, portfolio investment, securities brokerage and other jobs in various financial institutions; (3) continuing to study for master's and doctoral degrees at universities at home and abroad based on the existing major.
