Training objectives: The program equips the students with the basic theory of ship design; the design and manufacturing techniques of ships, marine engineering equipment and yachts; and the ability to work as technicians and managers responsible for design, manufacturing, inspection, and usage in the field of shipbuilding and marine engineering.

Characteristic advantages: This is a unique program of Wenhua College, a key development field in The Made in China 2025 Plan (MIC 2025), and a program favored by the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination Policy. This program complies with the national development strategy, focuses on both professional theory and practical ability, and places great emphasis on ability training and personalized development. Students of this program have won awards in the National Yacht Design Competition and various other competitions dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship. Main courses: Ship Statics, Ship Propulsion, Principles of Ship Design, Modern Shipbuilding Technology, Ship Structure and CAD Drawing, Structural Mechanics for Ships, Design of New Yachts, and courses on 3D design software for ships.

Employment prospects: To work for a design institute for shipbuilding and engineering; a yacht design company; a large or medium-sized shipyard along a coast or a river; a maritime safety authority; a ship inspection bureau; an employer engaged in offshore oil development; or any other relevant employer.
