Educational Objectives

This major aims to train technical and skilled personnel who have the ability to engage in investment decision-making and engineering cost work every step of the way of domestic and international engineering construction projects so as to satisfy the needs of national and local regional economic development and international engineering construction. Through the study in this major, students can have a good command of the basics of management, economics, civil engineering construction technology and engineering cost, develop a solid theoretical foundation of modern engineering cost management science to lay the foundation for obtaining a qualification certificate of cost engineer and consulting (investment) engineer in the future, and be proficient in operating engineering cost related software.

Job Prospects

Graduates of this major are mainly trained toward engineering cost and consulting, construction and supervision, real estate development, auditing firms, government departments and other enterprises and public sectors. They may engage in engineering cost bidding agency, engineering cost establishment and control, bidding quotation decision, contract management, engineering budget and settlement, engineering cost analysis, engineering consulting and other jobs, with promising employment prospects. Outstanding graduates can continue to pursue a bachelor’s degree based on current junior college education, possibly followed by a master's degree.
