Educational Objectives
This major is an undergraduate major under the talent training program for strategic emerging (pillar) industries in regular colleges and universities with four-year schooling in Hubei Province, with a focus on cultivating students' artisan spirit and professional skills. It is set to train senior engineering and technical personnel who master the basic theories and knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing, are able to use advanced design and manufacturing technology to solve complex technical problems in modern engineering and realize the intelligent design and production of industrial products, and may engage in design and manufacturing, product development, application research, operations management, business sales and other work in the field of mechanical production.

China regards advanced manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing as a major national development strategy, and manufacturing is an industry with great demand at present and in the future. After graduation, students can work on product design research and development, teaching, scientific research and administrative management in enterprises, colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and state organs. Potential jobs: mechanical design engineer, structural engineer, mechanical process engineer, electromechanical engineer, product sales manager and more. In recent years, the graduate school acceptance rate for this major is over 15%, along with over 95% of immediate employment rate.
