Educational Objectives

This major is positioned to train applied talents in the field of information technology in support of the transformation and upgrading of the information technology industry in Hubei Province. It is a trial of the undergraduate major under the talent training program for strategic emerging (pillar) industries and the major as a comprehensive reform pilot at regular colleges and universities with four-year schooling in Hubei Province, as well as of Hubei Province’s first-class major. Our computer professional teaching team was approved as a Hubei Provincial Higher Education Teaching Team. This major aims to foster applied talents who acquire the basic theories and expertise of computer science and technology, proficiently apply current popular software development platforms and tools, and have the capabilities of engineering design, innovation and entrepreneurship, team communication and leadership, and lifelong learning.

Job Prospects

The major opportunities for students in this major to be employed are as follows: (1) software development and testing, big data analysis, network integration and others in IT companies; (2) information system maintenance and testing, system integration and management and others; (3) the research, design and development of single-chip microcomputers and Internet of Things application systems in IT companies; (4) continuing to study for master's and doctoral degrees in universities at home and abroad.
