Arts Undergraduate Program Duration: 4 Years
Objective: We cultivate high-quality and applied talent who have the knowledge and ability of dance performance, systematically master dance education theories and basic skills, have certain abilities in choreography and creation, have required knowledge of related disciplines, can develop harmoniously in knowledge, ability, and quality, have good professional quality, innovative thinking and adaptability, and can be engaged in the performance, education, and management in art academies, performance troupes, schools, enterprises, public institutions, and cultural and sports systems.
Advantages and characteristics: This major focuses on sports dance and Chinese dance, and cultivates specialized applied talent in performance, teaching, creation, and theoretical research. Our talent cultivation pays attention to the combination of practical ability and personalized education, and formulates “one curriculum for each student” based on the dance foundation of each student; During the training and teaching, we develop personalized training programs to explore the potential of each student, cultivate their innovation ability, and help them learn and master the complete professional knowledge system; Guided by social demands, we implement the joint teaching by “professors and business experts” to improve the originality and entrepreneurship of the students. We have high-level teaching staff, including 2 professors and 4 associate professors. Our students have won the top three places at national and provincial dance competitions for more than 20 times.
Main courses: Basic Skills of Sports Dance, Choreography, Required Movements of Sports Dance Grading Test, Dance Repertoire, and Dance Teaching Methods, etc.
Career prospects: The graduates can work on teaching, training, and management positions in colleges and universities, various primary and secondary schools, fitness clubs, performance troupes, cultural and sports guidance centers, dance education institutions and various enterprises.
