Bachelor’s degree in science and engineering (four years)


Training objectives: To equip the students with the knowledge of multiple practical technologies in this field, such as HVAC engineering, refrigeration, urban gas engineering design, engineering construction, equipment manufacturing, and the automatic operation and management of building equipment, and the comprehensive qualities required for international registered equipment engineers.

Characteristic advantages: This program features three major directions, namely Application and Development Technologies for New Energy, which uses modern HVAC technologies to develop and apply new energy; Building Automation, which involves the engineering design for the automation of building equipment and the operation, commissioning, and management of building equipment ; Urban gas engineering, which involves gas engineering design, gas transmission and distribution, and the operation management of relevant equipment. Urban gas engineering is an emerging industry in modern cities and suffers a severe shortage of professionals. This program has been listed as a “green card” for the employment of college students for three consecutive years (with high employment rates, high employment salaries, high employment satisfaction, and increasing demand). The program is headed by a professor from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, with a strong faculty; a 200-sq.m. first-class professional laboratory and first-class off-campus practice bases have been built for the program; the graduate school acceptance rates have ranked among the top programs in Wenhua College for several consecutive years; the quality of employment has remain high (all graduates can find jobs in big cities or coastal cities); the graduates can seek employment in a variety of fields (engineering design, product design, engineering construction, and equipment/project operation and management); the employment rate have remained 100% except for those who pursue further education in postgraduate programs.


Main courses: Heat Transfer Theory, Engineering Thermodynamics, Hydrodynamics, Fundamentals of Mechanical Design, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Building Automation, HVAC Engineering, Refrigeration Technology, Gas Transmission and Distribution Engineering, Computer Application Technology, etc.


Employment prospects: To seek employment that requires modern practical techniques, such as engineering design and construction, the design and development of HVAC equipment, or the operation and management of equipment and engineering systems in an architectural design institute, a municipal engineering design institute, a thermal design institute, an industrial design institute (engaged in electric power, light industries, electronics, metallurgy, environmental protection, or steel), a construction engineering company, an HVAC or refrigeration equipment manufacturer, a gas and thermal company, an advanced property management company, or any other relevant sector.
