Training objectives: This program equips the students with the practical methods for modern civil engineering construction management and construction cost management; the ability to meet the requirements of the modern construction industry, which are “standardized design, industrialized construction, digitalized management, and intelligent application”; and the ability of practice and innovation.
Characteristic advantages: There are two professional directions for this program, namely “construction cost estimating” and “intelligent construction and information management,” for students to choose from based on their employment intentions. In addition to the basic courses opened based on the latest developments of this field in 2016, such as Building Construction, Engineering Evaluation, and Project Management, the program has also opened professional, improvement and skill courses, such as BIM (Building Information Modelling), Glodon Software, and Intelligent Construction as well as practical training courses. These courses are widely applicable and highly practical.
This program is a specialty of the college. About 60% of the full-time teachers hold associate senior titles or above, including three holding both the Registered Qualification Certificate of Cost Engineer and the Registered Qualification Certificate of Constructor. The program features a “double certificate” training mode, which allows the students to participate in the training and examinations for relevant skill certificates and professional qualification certificates during the study period. According to the respective needs of the two different professional directions, various training rooms such as the BIM training room for construction cost estimating” and the “sand-table training room for project management,” have been established. In addition, a number of fixed practice bases outside have also been set up outside the college to effectively connect with companies and enterprises, which has helped maintained the employment rates above 95% for the students of this program in the past three years.

Employment prospects: To work for a construction enterprise such as China Railway, CSCEC or MCC, a development enterprise such as Vanke, Country Garden, Evergrande, or Wuhan Metro, a consulting company such as a cost consulting company or Glodon, a government organ, a college or university, or a design company; or continue to study in a postgraduate program for a master’s degree.
