Electrical Engineering and Automation


Bachelor’s degree (four years)


Training objectives: To equip the students with the basic knowledge about and skills in electrical engineering and automation; the knowledge of new energy technology; and the ability to engage in power system operation, electrical equipment design, electrical project development, power equipment maintenance, and power engineering management in the fields of power generation, power supply, and electrical equipment manufacturing.


Characteristic advantages: This program features a clear professional background. Electrical operation, maintenance, and development in all industries can be included in the scope of application of this program. This program boasts a relatively strong faculty. In 2020, the program was included in the “Shuang Wan Plan” as a demonstration for the construction of provincial-level first-class undergraduate programs, creating good career prospects for students. The program has been running for more than 10 years, and graduates have been employed by the State Grid Corporation of China, electric power design institutes, electrical equipment manufacturers, and other industrial enterprises, with the employment rate maintained above 95%.


Main courses: Circuit Theory, Electronic Technology, Electro Machinery, Power Electronics, Power System Analysis, Power System Relay Protection, Automatic Control Theory, Electric Drive and Control System, Electrical Control and PLC Technology, etc.


Employment prospects: To pursue further studies for a master’s degree in Power Systems and Automation, Control Engineering, or any other related field; engage in electrical operation or the design, maintenance, operation, or management of equipment for a power generation company, the State Grid Corporation of China (the administration of power supply), or any other power equipment manufacturer; or work in any other industrial field related to electrical engineering, such as system operation, automatic control, power electronic technology, information processing, test technology, research and development, economic management, or the application of electronic and computer technology.
