Material Forming and Control Engineering (characterized by 3D Printing and Intelligent Manufacturing)


Bachelor’s degree (four years)


Training objectives: To equip the students with the professional knowledge about and application capabilities in advanced material forming and equipment automation and intelligent manufacturing and 3D printing technology and the ability to engage in the development, innovative design, manufacturing, and management of technological products and equipment to meet the needs of social development.


Characteristic advantages: 3D printing technology is a key development field designated in The Made in China 2025 Plan (MIC 2025). JOYE 3D High-tech Co., Ltd., the first company that introduced 3D printing into China, works with the college, to cultivate innovation capabilities through such personalized education models as “studios + projects”, “courses + competitions”, and “professors + experts.” Students have won multiple awards in provincial and national competitions. This program has about 20% of the students accepted into postgraduate programs, with an employment rate of over 95%.


Main courses: Fundamentals of Mechanical Manufacturing Technology, CAD/CAM Application, 3D Printing Software Technology, Classifications and Principles of 3D Printing Technology, 3D Measurement and Data Acquisition and Processing, Fundamentals of Material Forming Processes, and Material Forming Equipment and Automation.

Employment prospects: China is currently suffering from a great shortage of talented personnel engaged in mechanical engineering, the protection of cultural relics and ancient buildings, digital projects, 3D printing and manufacturing, 3D modeling, product manufacturing, and other related positions.
